The Scotts Valley Police Department has issued a Notification of Sign Ordinance Enforcement to real estate agents doing business in Scotts Valley as the result of ongoing complaints by residents of signs being in walkways and other areas that interfere with foot and vehicle traffic.

Citing Scotts Valley Municipal Code 17.56.100, real estate agents are being informed that one for sale sign is allowed on the property and up to 4 open house signs are allowed per property on weekends, holidays and “caravan day”. Violators will have the signs removed and stored by SVPD with a requirement that $36 per signed be paid that was picked up before they are released back to the agent or agent representative. Failure to redeem signs after 15 days will result in the disposal of each sign.
